The March Equinox is the start of the astrological New Year and represents the beginning of a new zodiac cycle. For those in the Northern Hemisphere, it represents the start of Spring. For those in the Southern Hemisphere, it represents the start of Autumn. All of this combined makes the March Equinox a powerful day for renewal, new beginnings, fresh energy, and a shift in our perspective. 

Depending on what Mother Nature is doing around us, we may feel called to blossom and sprout, or we may feel called to release and let go in order to prepare for the new.

In ancient times, the Equinox was also believed to be a point where the veil between this world and higher realms was thin. It was at this point in the year where we could hear the wisdom of our ancestors, nature spirits, and our spirit guides, guiding us forward or signaling to us what needs to be done. The energies of the Equinox were said to be a magical time, where harmony fell on the planet and where we could embody an equal balance of dark and light. Just like a yin and yang symbol, we can’t have one without the other. We need darkness to see the light and we need the light to recognize the darkness. The Equinox is about honoring both of these qualities that live within- our shadow and our divine light. It is about acknowledging that working with this duality is the journey of our souls here at Earth School. 

For the 2021 Equinox, Chiron is hovering near the Aries Sun, shining its influence and giving us clues as to the journey to come as we begin this new astrological cycle. Chiron is known as the wounded healer. Even though it has suffered terrible trauma, injuries, and injustices, it is able to use this as fuel to help heal others. Chiron has mastered the art of taking its wounds and turning them into portals of strength and inspiration. It is Chiron’s presence that makes us feel less alone. It is Chiron’s presence that allows us to remember that our traumas need not bring us down, but can instead be fuel for our rising.

This is a powerful Gateway to forgive the past, so we can fully see our Shine through the Shadows. Use the message of Chiron to remind you of your own strength and your own superpower to take the pains of the past and turn them into portals of potential.
